Cruise itinerary

Day 1 - Venice

Arrive at either of the two Venice Airport, where a transfer will take you into the centre of Venice. After settling into your hotel, spend your day exploring Venice. With its winding canals, stunning architecture, and rich history, the city offers a truly unique experience. You can take a romantic gondola ride through the canals, visit the breath-taking St. Mark’s Basilica, or wander through the maze of narrow streets and charming squares. Venice is also known for its vibrant arts scene, world-class museums, and beautiful bridges like the Rialto. Whether you're admiring the grand Piazza San Marco or discovering hidden gems, Venice captivates with its timeless charm and unmistakable atmosphere.

Day 2 - Venice: Day Trip Idea - Lido

Escape the bustling crowds of Venice and discover the serene beauty of the Lido. Spend your days lounging on the pristine beach, soaking up the sun, and swimming in the crystal-clear waters of the Adriatic Sea. Explore the charming seaside town, with its Art Nouveau architecture, boutique shops, and cosy cafes. Getting to Lido is easy, you can simply hop on a Vaporetto (waterbus) and in around 15-20 minutes (depending on the line you take) you’ll arrive at the main ferry port on Lido. The most popular lines to get to Lido are 1 & 6 and depart frequently.

Day 3 - Florence

Take the train from Venice to Florence, then make your way to your selected hotel. Florence is a vibrant hub of art, history, and culture. The city offers treasures like the Uffizi Gallery, Michelangelo’s David at the Accademia, and the stunning Duomo with Brunelleschi’s iconic dome that towers over the city's skyline. Its cobblestone streets are ideal for strolling, dotted with cafés and boutique shops. Don’t miss the picturesque Ponte Vecchio for breath-taking views of the Arno River. Florence’s charm and rich heritage leave a lasting impression on every visitor.

Days 4 & 5 - Florence: Day Trip Ideas - Arezzo and Lucca

A historic city known for its artistic heritage and medieval architecture, Arezzo's highlights include the stunning Piazza Grande, the Basilica of San Francesco with its wall paintings and the impressive Cathedral of Arezzo. Arezzo also hosts a famous antique fair and the Giostra del Saracino, a medieval jousting event. With its charming streets and vibrant atmosphere, Arezzo is a great destination for those looking to explore Tuscany away from the more crowded tourist spots. Direct trains from Florence takes around an hour.

Lucca, a charming walled city in known for its well-preserved walls and cobblestone streets. The city features beautiful historic architecture, including the stunning Lucca Cathedral and the Basilica of San Frediano. Visitors can stroll or bike along the ancient walls, which offers panoramic views of the surrounding area. Lucca is also famous for its local cuisine, vibrant squares, and cultural events, making it a delightful destination for exploring Tuscan history and charm. Direct trains from Florence take around 1h 30 mins.

Day 6 & 7 - Rome

Take the train from Florence to Rome (1.5 hours) then make your way to your selected hotel. An eternal city of ancient ruins, Renaissance art, and delectable cuisine, Rome offers a captivating blend of history, culture, and romance. Take in the Colosseum; one of Rome's most iconic landmarks and is a symbol of ancient Roman history. Next visit the Roman Forum; once the political and social centre of ancient Rome. Today, it’s a fascinating archaeological site featuring ruins of structures like the Temple of Saturn and the Arch of Titus. Other highlights to visit include the Trevi Fountain and of course Vatican City.

Days 8 - Rome: Day Trip Ideas - Tivoli

A gem near Rome, Tivoli is a picturesque town known for its stunning historical sites. It features the Villa d’Este, famous for its gardens and elaborate fountains, and the Villa Adriana, an ancient Roman site with impressive ruins. Tivoli's blend of art, architecture, and natural beauty makes it a popular daytrip destination. You can get to Tivoli from Rome via direct train which can take between 40 to 50 minutes.

Days 9 & 10 - Naples and Pompeii or Herculaneum

Continue your journey south, taking the train to Naples (just over an hour), then make your way to your selected hotel. Head out to the beautiful old town and explore its winding, narrow streets. Explore Naples including the historic centre including the Spanccanapoli; the narrow, bustling street that splits old Naples, full of churches, shops and cafes. Take time to visit Naples Cathedral (Duomo) and the Naples Underground; a series of tunnels, aqueducts and catacombs beneath the city. Visiting Pompeii and Herculaneum as a day trip from Naples is one of the most fascinating and immersive historical experiences in Italy. Just a short train ride away these two ancient Roman cities were famously buried by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD and remarkably preserved under layers of ash.

Day 11 - Fly Home
