Background to Split:  Famous for its UNESCO heritage protection, the wonderful city of Split is home to the famous palace, bearing the Roman emperor Diocletian's name, It contains a wealth of history and culture. Split is also an excellent base for exploring the wider region. Visit the nearby Krka National Park, a beautiful location with stunning waterfalls. Or visit the the nearby town of Trogir, with its delightful old town dating back to the 13th century.



Background to Plitvice Lakes: Welcome to your holiday paradise! Plitvice Lakes National Park is unquestionably one of the most picturesque locations in Europe. Home to a wide range of flora and fauna, its series of tiered turquoise lakes, connected by gushing waterfalls and cascades in the forested heart of Croatia, make for an unforgettable setting for you to explore. Wooden walkways and bridges snake around the fringes of the lakes offering spectacular views in this UNESCO Heritage Site. 



Background to Zadar: Known for its spectacular sunsets, wealth of history and being the gateway to the nearby national parks, Zadar is an ideal holiday destination. This ancient regional capital boasts Roman ruins, stunning medieval churches and interesting restaurants. There are a number of blue flag beaches, making Zadar an attractive location for a spot of sunbathing for the beach-goer. It’s also well placed for day trips to a number of its neighbouring islands, especially Dugi Otok. Zadar is also famous for its spectacular sunsets which are credited as being the best in Croatia.

Day 1 - Split

Arrive at Split Airport, where a private transfer will meet you in arrivals and take you directly to your chosen Split Hotel. Head out to the Diocletian Palace and explore this fantastic old town

Day 2 & 3 - Split: Day Trip Ideas - Trogir & Krka National Park

Another of Croatia’s UNESCO sites, Trogir is a very picturesque town, not far from Split, offering a rich history, plenty of culture and excellent food. This historic town evolved within its medieval city walls, on a small island connected by bridges to both the mainland and the island of Ciovo. Trogir is very easy to get to from Split. There are regular coach services from the main bus station throughout the day and in summer there’s also a passenger ferry that takes around one hour. Covering 142 square metres, this is an area of outstanding natural beauty. It’s famous for its magnificent waterfalls, including the famous Skradinski Buk, a collection of 17 waterfalls that range in height of 45 metres. Easily accessible by coach or an organised excursion, it's a perfect day trip from Split

Day 4 - Split: Day Trip Ideas - Hvar

We highly recommend this day trip. Head to Hvar by catamaran, duration 1 hour. Spend the day exploring this chic, vibrant and historic location. head to the fortress for unbelievable views, take a trip to the local islands or simply relax. It's up to you!

Day 5, 6 & 7 - Plitvice Lakes National Park

Pick up your hire car from Split or take an organised transfer to this superb national park. Spend your time exploring the wooded walkways and bridges that wind around the edge of lakes.

Day 8 - Zadar

Travel by hire car or private transfer to your chosen Zadar hotel, check in, then spend the rest of the day exploring this delightful city. Full of history, Zadar's old town has lots of sights to see, including the Sun Salutation and Sea Organ.

Day 9 - Day Trip Ideas: Paklenica National Park

Located only 30 miles from Zadar the Paklenica N.P. is a karst river canyon which is great for hiking, with trails of varying lengths. On your visit you will be amazed by the many rock climbers scaling the walls of the canyon. Paklenica is very accessible by bus to Starigrad Paklenica (1hr), or by car (50 mins).

Day 10 - Day Trip Ideas: Sibenik

A maze of winding streets leading to pretty squares and the beautiful cathedral of Sveti Jakov (St James) are two reasons why Sibenik shouldn’t be overlooked as a day trip from Zadar. The cathedral was built in the 15th century and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, offering an elaborate mix of styles, including its dome that was inspired by Brunelleschi’s in Florence. It’s easy to get to Sibenik from Zadar with regular coaches departing throughout the day (duration is 1 hour 15 mins).
