Please also note that it may be necessary to reverse the itinerary, i.e. start in Hvar and finish in Split, depending on flight and ferry timetables as well as hotel availability.

  • Transfer from your hotel in Split to Split ferry port; most hotels in Split are a 10-15 minute walk from the port. If further you may wish to hop in a taxi/Uber
  • Transfer from Hvar Town port to your hotel in Hvar; all hotels are within a 10 minute walk from the port

Background to Split: Famous for its UNESCO heritage protection, the wonderful city of Split is home to the famous palace, bearing the Roman emperor Diocletian's name, It contains a wealth of history and culture. Split is also an excellent base for exploring the wider region. Visit the nearby Krka National Park, a beautiful location with stunning waterfalls. Or visit the the nearby town of Trogir, with its delightful old town dating back to the 13th century.

Background to Hvar: One of Croatia's most popular destinations. The town of Hvar is perfect for those looking to relax, socialise, take day trips and soak up its rich history. Hvare boasts a wonderful 13th century renaissance cathedral and a fortress with fantastic views across the bay. Or you could take a day trip to explore the rest of the island, famous for its rolling lavender fields or to the nearby Pakleni islands, perfect for soaking up the sun. By night, eat at one of the many excellent restaurants that serve delicious local dishes.

Day 1 - Split - Explore the Old Town:

Arrive at Split Airport, where a private transfer will meet you in arrivals and take you directly to your hotel in Split. We recommended getting your bearings in this fabulous city by exploring Split's UNESCO protected Roman Diocletian Palace old town. After a morning sightseeing, take a break; relax by heading to the nearby beach, and soak up that Adriatic sun.

Day 2 - Split: Day Trip Idea - Krka National Park

Covering 142 square metres, this is an area of outstanding natural beauty. It’s famous for its magnificent waterfalls, including the famous Skradinski Buk, a collection of 17 waterfalls that range in height of 45 metres. Easily accessible by coach or an organised excursion, it's a perfect day trip from Split

Day 3 - Split: Day Trip Idea - Trogir

Another of Croatia’s UNESCO sites, Trogir is a very picturesque town, not far from Split, offering a rich history, plenty of culture and excellent food. This historic town evolved within its medieval city walls, on a small island connected by bridges to both the mainland and the island of Ciovo. Trogir is very easy to get to from Split. There are regular coach services from the main bus station throughout the day and in summer there’s also a passenger ferry that takes around one hour.

Day 4 - Split

Why not spend your last full day in Split relaxing by the beach, soaking up the Adriatic Sun.

Day 5 - Split to Hvar

After check out of your hotel, make your way to Split ferry port and take the catamaran (fast ferry) to Hvar. Upon arrival, make your way to your hotel. Check in and spend the rest of your day relaxing by the pool or beach.

Day 6 - Hvar

Explore Hvar Town - The atmospheric town is steeped in history and sites of interest include the ancient fortress, a Franciscan monastery and St. Stephen’s square, the largest and most beautiful Venetian piazza in Croatia. The bell of St. Stephen’s cathedral rises to four levels, each one more intricate than the last. North-west of the square, lies a labyrinth of charming streets with small palaces, churches and old Dalmatian houses. For superb views of the Adriatic and the Pakleni Islands, climb up to Hvar Fortress.

Day 7 - Hvar: Day Trip Idea - Korcula

Renowned for being the reputed birthplace of Marco Polo, Korcula offers a rich history and excellent beaches. Its fascinating Old Town is of course a little smaller than Dubrovnik’s but is still a wonderful place to explore. You can easily get to Korcula from Hvar Town by fast catamaran. Every day between May and September it departs early morning and returns in the evening making a full day trip perfectly feasible.

Day 8 - Hvar: Day Trip Idea - Pakleni Islands

The islands opposite Hvar are the Pakleni islands, a stunning archipelago of tiny emerald isles, set in the glistening Adriatic. They’re a popular destination for beach goers with some of the best beaches in the area. There's numerous ferries to and from each day, most of which go to Palmizana Bay, where pine forests and heather fields provide the perfect backdrop to pristine waves licking the sandy cove.

Day 11 - Hvar: Fly home

It’s time to depart from what we hope has been a fascinating and enjoyable holiday. Make your way back to Split by catamaran, then your private transfer will pick you up and take you to the airport in time for your flight.

In Hvar, all hotels are classed as premium. It is important to note that the exact hotels and room types will be allocated by us once you have booked. Premium Hotels: Typically mid-range and awarded with 4 stars, our Premium Hotels feature more elegant decor. They provide a great selection of amenities.
